The rule behind every position on CreatorBoard, explained in full — including how ties are broken, how to pay more to climb back, and why an estimate can move.
Profiles on each CreatorBoard leaderboard are ranked by eligible qualifying amount, highest first. The eligible qualifying amount is the total of a profile’s confirmed payments that count toward that board and period. The profile with the highest eligible qualifying amount holds position #1; every other position follows in descending order.
When two or more profiles hold the same eligible qualifying amount, the tie is broken by whoever reached that amount first — the profile that arrived at its current total earliest is ranked higher. If a profile tops up to a new, higher amount, the clock for tie-break purposes resets to the moment of that top-up, because that is when it reached its new total.
Worked example
Creator A reaches $250 on Tuesday at 09:00 UTC. Creator B reaches $250 on Wednesday at 14:00 UTC. Both profiles now hold the same eligible qualifying amount, so it is a tie on amount alone — but Creator A reached $250 first, so Creator A is ranked above Creator B until one of them adds to their amount. If Creator B later tops up past $250, the $250 tie stops mattering — Creator B is judged on its new, higher amount instead.

Amounts accumulate within a period — every payment you make toward the same board and period adds to your qualifying amount, it doesn’t replace it. That means if another creator outbids you, you don’t need to match their whole amount from scratch: paying the difference on top of what you’ve already paid this period is enough to reclaim your position.
Worked example
This only works inside the same week. Because the weekly board resets to zero at Monday 00:00:00 UTC, a $50 payment made last week does not carry into this week — Creator A would need to build a fresh qualifying amount from zero once a new week starts.

Every position CreatorBoard shows before a placement is confirmed is an estimate, computed from the leaderboard information available at that moment. Because other creators can add to or start a placement at any time, an estimated position can change before your payment is confirmed or your placement is activated. The position that matters is the one your profile holds once your placement is active and displayed.
